This development project transformed the old Stockwood Park Museum into Stockwood Discovery Centre. Using main themes of environment and sustainability and community and identity, it harnessed the impressive collections of Luton Museums Service along with the outstanding gardens and remaining listed built elements of the site (Stockwood House was demolished in the 1950s), for the purposes of exploration and discovery.

Stockwood Discovery Centre has been extremely successful since opening. The combination of culturally important museum displays with magnificent gardens, a bespoke children’s play area and high quality café facilities have made the site a favourite family attraction for Luton, Bedfordshire and further afield.
